Our Family History

Founded in 1968 in Lake Oswego, Oregon, by Duane Stroupe, S&H Logging got it’s start with one piece of equipment. By the late 70’s, he had grown the company to 10 pieces of equipment and 25 employees. Over the years as the business landscape changed, the company relocated to it’s current location in Tualatin, Oregon in 1982. S&H evolved from a premium firewood supplier to it’s current business as a source of high quality landscaping supplies and recycling.

As the success of S&H soared, the Stroupe family wanted to pass on the values and love of the ranching lifestyle, while at the same time producing a healthy product which will benefit other families as they have have been fortunate to experience. Stroupe Family Farm began offering their locally-raised, all natural products to consumers in 2009.

Everything begins with the soil and it is a rewarding opportunity to leave the environment better than it was before. The synergy among yard debris and tree branches for animal bedding, and mulching the ground for pasture and crops, make it come full circle from the animals to forages and forests, which makes the soil more vibrant and productive than traditional monoculture farming.

Today, Stroupe Family Farm and S&H are still in the family as the first generation has handed the reigns to the second.
